ANXIETY-FREE
DENTISTRY
ANXIETY
FREE DENTISTRY - We
understand that many people suffer from dental anxiety,
and we have taken action to provide options to patients
to make their visits more comfortable. Along with
our spa amenities, we also offer a heated, therapeutic
chair, pillows for under the head, knees or back,
and comfy blankets. Tune out with a headset with
CD choices or the option to provide your own music,
or catch up on daytime television, DVD’s,
etc.
SEDATION - Patients
suffering from extreme anxiety are offered a sedative-
a pill to be taken one hour before your visit, or
an additional pill to be taken the night before to
help you get to sleep.
IMMEDIATE
RESULTS - In
the past, treatments would require several appointments
over a period of months. We are now able to give
you the dazzling results you want in as little as
two visits. If you have trouble getting away from
your busy work schedule, or if you hate needles,
noises, tastes and smells of the dental office, or
were traumatized by a past dental experience, have
a strong gag reflex or very sensitive teeth- this
is the option for you. The best part-
after experiencing dramatic results in only one visit,
you’ll
wonder why you waited so long to have the smile you
have always wanted. At Dr. Sostowski’s office,
dentistry is our means of making a difference by
creating SMILES THAT CHANGE LIVES.
GENERAL
DENTISTRY
PREVENTATIVE
CARE - The
foundation of a great smile and comfortable mouth
is preventing problems before they start. Our office
puts great importance on this. With regular, thorough
visits with our hygienist, we’ll help you reach
your goal of good health while achieving a dazzling
smile.
TOOTH
COLOR FILLINGS - We
have not used silver-mercury fillings
in over 20 years. Bonded tooth colored
fillings are superior and they look great---
no more black looking teeth in the back
of your mouth. Turn your metal-mouth into
a natural smile.
PERIODONTAL
CARE - The
problems with this disease do not stop
at your mouth. Four out
of five adults have some form of periodontal disease.
People suffering from periodontal disease are twice
as likely to suffer from heart disease. Periodontal
disease is a red flag- warning of future tooth loss,
heart attack, or stroke. It is also related to lung
infections and exacerbates diabetes. It is a slow
progressing, and painless disease, so most people
don’t even know they have it.
Women have special needs at different stages of
life. Puberty, menstruation, pregnancy and menopause
all can influence your oral health and the need for
dental and medical care. During these times, your
body experiences hormonal changes that can increase
your risk for periodontal disease leading to a variety
of other health concerns; Pre-term and low birth-weight
babies, stroke, and cardiovascular disease.
Getting and helping you keep your mouth healthy is
a high priority in our office. We think of our hygienists
as periodontal therapists. They are highly trained
in non-surgical periodontal therapy. With more advanced
disease cases, Dr. Sostowski performs his own surgeries
so you don’t need to be ‘referred out’.
ONE
VISIT ROOT CANALS - The
words “root canal” scare many people.
This should not be the case. It really should be
a painless procedure. At our office, for most patients
the root canal can be completed in just one visit.
The newest technology along with the Doctor’s
skill, care, and judgment allow us to offer our patients
this convenience.
DENTURES
AND PARTIAL DENTURES - These
are not your Grandmother’s dentures. For an
instant face-lift, consider replacing your worn out
or poor fitting dentures with new ones that
are more natural, comfortable and useable! New materials
are available to match your skin, eye, and hair color
to give the look as if you were born with perfect
teeth. You can even pick out that smile you’ve
always wanted in our smile gallery. As people age,
dentures can wear and give you an ‘older’ look,
as well as cause chewing problems. Dentures can be
replaced or relined to give you back your chewing
ability as well as a more youthful appearance.
DENTAL
IMPLANTS - There are
plenty of reasons to replace a missing tooth. A gap
between your teeth, if obvious when you smile or speak,
is a cosmetic concern. Missing molars might not be
noticeable when you talk or smile, but their absence
can affect chewing.
Implants
are titanium “Anchors” that replace
tooth roots. Before
the availability of dental implants, we were limited
on how we were able to replace missing teeth.
Our options included fixed crown and bridge that
frequently require reduction of sound teeth to replace
a missing tooth or removable appliance (partial denture).
Implants allow us to replace individual teeth, without
altering other adjacent natural teeth. People who
are wearing full or partial dentures can now replace
these with non-removable appliances, or lock a denture
into place to provide greatly enhanced chewing ability
and comfort.

COSMETIC
THE GOAL OF COSMETIC DENTISTRY -
To
turn an average smile into a dazzling smile. This
is done by analyzing every aspect of a smile and
then correcting the problems. Dazzling smiles have
several things in common:
Teeth are straight, not crooked
They are evenly spaced with no gaps
Teeth are white, not stained
The tops of your teeth show when you smile, but not
the gums
The gum line is smooth, not uneven
The edges of the top teeth smoothly follow the curve
of the lower lip
There are cosmetic procedures to solve any of these
problems. So even if you weren't born with a beautiful
smile, you can still have one.
PORCELAIN
VENEERS - Veneers
are thin shells of porcelain that are fabricated
with the help of a dental laboratory to precisely
fit your teeth. Veneers can be used to whiten
teeth as well as correct problems like chipped,
misshapen, crooked or worn teeth. Once they are
in place, veneers virtually become part of your
teeth. The new extremely strong bond allows you
to use you veneers like you would your own teeth.
Your final result is a more beautiful, naturally
looking new smile!
TOOTH
COLORED BONDED PORCELAIN RESTORATIONS - Often
referred to as onlays or inlays, it remains the most
conservative treatment for updating and strengthening
back teeth. It is like ‘re-enameling’ your
teeth and will last for decades. Porcelain restorations
reflect light with a natural healthy glow.
GINGIVAL
"GUM LIFT" - Do
your front teeth seem too short? When you smile,
do you see too much gum tissue? Oftentimes, it is
not the size of the teeth that is wrong- it’s
the length of your gums. A Gingival “gum lift” is
a simple and easy procedure to adjust this problem.
